Shattered Stanzas

(5) Drowned

Her book, marked me devil when I cared

Tried to put some proof to show I did

Being told that I am making her count

Wherever I go I found myself dieing and drowned

(4) Negated

I bore my head into melancholy

When I asked her, “would you have a look at this?”

She negated me as she didn’t care anymore

My heart called for the tear to wash the pain away

But the dry eyes refused to heal me

(3) Reward

I was happy but scared

Mixing your feelings is what love rewards you with

she was ready to fly, that’s what bloomed my heart

I won’t be there to watch her back, soured my soul

(2) Winter Night

The cold night and the pleasant warmth

Balanced my temper and swayed me to silence

The glittery night and the foggy chills

Made the winter pull us close and let us soothe our soul

(1) Ocean Bridge

I could see beyond the layered water

I find myself falling into deep but reaching up high in the sky

I could smell the salt and taste the rust

For once I crossed the iron bridge on the ocean
